Biography
Daniel Klaidman is a special correspondent for Newsweek Magazine and the Daily Beast. He was Newsweek’s managing editor from 2006 until 2011. From 2001 until 2006, he was the magazine's Washington bureau chief, where he led its award winning coverage of 9/11 and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. In 1999 and 2000, he served as Middle East correspondent based in Jerusalem. Before that he was the Newsweek's Middle East correspondent, based in Jerusalem. He joined Newsweek in 1996 as an investigative reporter in Washington. Klaidman was a Ferris Professor at Princeton University last fall where he taught a seminar on national security reporting. He is the author of “Kill or Capture. The War on Terror and the Soul of the Obama Presidency,” published last month by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.
