Biography
Ambassador Hakimi is a career diplomat with well-established credentials. He previously worked as an adviser in policy formulation, government reform, and institutional capacity building at the Independent Administrative Reform and Civil Service Commission and the Office of the Vice President, during 2002 and 2005.

In 2005, Ambassador Hakimi was appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Afghanistan to the People’s Republic of China, while serving as non-resident Ambassador to Mongolia and Socialist Republic of Vietnam. He also served as Afghanistan’s Ambassador to Japan, and was appointed as Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs in 2010.
