The Washington Post announced on Monday that U.S. officials were ready to resume talks with the Afghan Taliban to secure the release of U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. Bergdahl has been held captive since 2009. Despite public pleas to negotiate for Bergdahl’s freedom, many worry that talks could provide terrorist groups with political legitimacy.
