    General Joseph Votel is the thirteenth commander of United States Central Command. He is responsible for U.S Operations throughout the Middle East and Southwest and Central Asia regions. Some of his previous assignments include Commanding General of U.S. Special Operations Command, Commanding General Joint Special Operations Command, Deputy Commanding General for CJTF-82 in Operation Enduring Freedom, Deputy Director of the Joint IED Defeat Organization, and Commander of 75th Ranger Regiment. General Votel graduated from the Infantry Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and the U.S. Army War College.
