Kim Ghattas covers international affairs and the Hillary Clinton 2016 campaign for the BBC. She also writes a regular column for Foreign Policy. Based in Washington, she was the BBC’s State Department correspondent from 2008 until 2013. She is the author of the NYT best seller The Secretary – a Journey with Hillary Clinton from Beirut to the Heart of American Power. Before 2008, she was a Middle East correspondent for the BBC and the Financial Times, based in Beirut, where she was born and raised. She covered the region extensively from Iraq to Saudi Arabia and Syria and was part of an Emmy-Award-winning BBC team covering the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel in 2006.
