Biography
Eileen O'Connor serves on the Executive Team as adviser to the president on government relations, policy, and strategic communications. O'Connor spent her career as a government official, non-profit executive, attorney, and journalist, based in London, Tokyo, Moscow, Afghanistan, and Washington, DC. As founder of legal crisis management practices at three international law firms, O'Connor worked on multi-fora legal cases, including suing human rights abusers at the Supreme Court. As Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Obama administration, O'Connor oversaw $400 million in programming from 2011 to 2016 in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and South and Central Asia, centered on countering violent extremism. O'Connor was awarded Superior Honor awards, the Peabody Award, the DuPont Award, multiple Overseas Press Club awards, as well as Emmy, Cable Ace, and National Headliner awards for her documentaries, political, investigative, and war-zone work. O'Connor has a post-graduate from the LSE and a JD from Georgetown.
