Ryan Lizza is the Washington Correspondent for The New Yorker and a political commentator for CNN. He covers the White House, Congress, and national politics. Lizza joined The New Yorker in 2007. He has also written for TNR, GQ, New York, The New York Times, Washington Monthly, and The Atlantic. “The Consequentialist,” Lizza’s article about Obama’s foreign policy, won the 2012 National Press Club’s Hood Award for Diplomatic Correspondence. In 2013, Lizza was awarded the White House Correspondents’ Association’s Aldo Beckman Memorial Award for journalistic excellence for a series of articles about Obama. Lizza is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University.
